Deja vu theory already death3/16/2024 ![]() The way the furniture is designed, the way the garden grows, even a familiar pattern of speech can trigger a sense of déjà vu as a result. The human mind has an amazing capacity to spot and remember patterns. In other words, your mind is literally playing tricks on you. Something went wrong, and the sensory input you received has loaded up an unrelated memory accidentally. That’s creating a sense of familiarity even though you’re having a new experience. An object, a smell, or a sound has triggered a memory you’ve already stored. Scientific approaches reject the explanation of déjà vu as “ precognition” or “ prophecy“, but rather explain it as an anomaly of memory, which creates a distinct impression that an experience is “being recalled” The term déjà vu is French and means, literally, “already seen.” Those who have experienced the feeling describe it as an overwhelming sense of familiarity with something that shouldn’t be familiar at all.
